It’s a lightweight bag that weighs only 2 pounds and that weight shouldn’t be hard to maneuver with at all.
The bag is easy to put away with a stuff sack that lets you take this bag and go. Sometimes it can be a little awkward getting them all the way into that sack as there’s no Velcro or anything like that.

One nice feature that I’ve noticed this bag offers is that it has two layers – basically its design almost gives you two sleeping bags in one so you’re not finding any cold spots, everything should be evenly comforting you.
The design also includes a squared off bottom so that your feet have room and you won’t feel any kind of pinch at the bottom.
The bag really doesn’t pack down all that well, so factor that in if you’re planning on bringing this to different places or if space is limited.

This is definitely a youth bag that is only good for children and is rated at 45 degrees. It won’t be the warmest bag you see, but for mild temperatures it should do a good job of providing comfort.
Children up to around 5 and a half feet can sleep in this bag comfortably, so if you’re buying young – you should have a bag that lasts you for a long chunk of their childhood. Older kids are not the target for this sleeping bag.
The zipper has a unique design that pushes fabric away while the zipper is being used, so you’re not going to snag all the material in the zipper.
Everything in this sleeping bag is polyester, which is going to be great for your child’s comfort.
This bag can be rolled up quite easily as it’s not an extremely heavy duty bag, great for sleepovers and easy transport.

This is also very much a children’s product. It can accommodate sleepers who stand tall up to 5 feet, meaning that older children are not going to find much use out of this one on a camping trip or a sleepover.
There are three different color options, blue, pink, and teal and each one is fairly basic but looks fine on display. The bags are almost appealingly generic, they’re not going to stand out from the crowd. That is, until you turn out the lights and you see the glow in the dark design on the inside.

The designs are very aggressively “girl” and include pink and purple camo, pink with rainbow stars – things like that. The designs are fun, but they may be a bit much if you’re buying for a daughter who is a bit more reserved. These kinds of designs can also lead to them outgrowing their sleeping bag a bit quicker than others.
I think that this sleeping bag is much more suitable to warmer temperatures and especially indoor activities like a sleepover. I wouldn’t bring this anywhere outdoors really.
One negative here is that you cannot turn this sleeping bag into a blanket as you can with some other bags.

Usually, weight isn’t the biggest concern when buying a child’s sleeping bag. Typically, a long hike is not going to include taking your kids on camping trips, or their sleeping arrangements.
However, there are still weight and packing factors to be aware of.
Most youth sleeping bags will weigh around 2 or 3 pounds. That’s not really a big deal as far as variation goes there.
The biggest deal will be in packed size. Again, I don’t even think that the actual packed size matters, it’s how easy the sleeping bag is to pack.
I’m sure you’ve seen parents or children struggling after a sleepover to get a sleeping bag back into its storage bag. It’s a pain and it can really cause some inconvenience when you may be in a hurry. The best sleeping bags have convenient storage options that make folding up your sleeping bag and getting out of that sleepover in a hurry simple, quick, and effortless.
If possible, get a look of how the storage bag shuts – Velcro is always a winner in my book for ease and hopefully something your child can handle on their own.
Comfort and Durability
Comfort and durability are two of the biggest factors that exist when buying a child’s sleeping bag.
Usually, you will see children’s sleeping bags made with some form of polyester as a comfortable material that isn’t too expensive.
You should check the temp rating on the bag to see if you’ve got something appropriate for cold or warm climates, and you should make sure your child likes the feel of the material when they’re sleeping as well.
For durability, I like to look to the manufacturer as a test for a sleeping bag that I don’t own.
A lot of times, it’s hard to tell whether a company is giving you a quality product, or something that is made with shoddy workmanship. Even quality bags can be made overseas.
I like to look to the manufacturer and see if they have some sort of 100% Customer Satisfaction guarantee or if they have a warranty on their sleeping bag. A warranty will probably be more rare as this is not a serious investment most of the time, however seeing a customer satisfaction guarantee would ease my worries that I am buying a nice product that a company believes in.
Face Fabric
Face fabric refers to the outer layer of your sleeping bag that is going to insulate and protect you from the cold.
Without a quality face fabric, you probably won’t have a sleeping bag that gives a nice amount of protection or insulation.
For children’s bags, you will probably see a lot of polyester throughout all levels of the sleeping bag.
You may also see nylon which would be extremely comfortable, and can really last a long time. For those concerned only about comfort, nylon feels quite nice to the touch and is an awesome soft material to use.
It’s rare to see a child’s sleeping bag have this, but some premium bags will offer a waterproof finish. That means that the manufacturer has added water repellent to the sleeping bag and no water will be getting in. This is great for outdoor situations where you may get a bit wet, but will (hopefully) never come up for indoor sleepovers.
Last but not least, you can have a downproof finish which means that the manufacturer has taken time to protect against cold spots and any kind of holes that may have normally been made in your sleeping bag material.
Temperature Rating and Insulation
Temp rating is one of the most important specifications that you can look at when choosing a quality sleeping bag for cold weather camping.
However, you need to be careful not to always trust a manufacturer’s word for your preferred temperature without any kind of testing.
Many bags for children will rank somewhere in the 30-40 degree range, but I would not be comfortable with all of those bags if I was sending my child out into a 35 degree night.
Use logic and be sure to test sleeping bags before you blindly believe a sticker and say that a 40 degree rating means extreme comfort in 40 degrees.
That being said, you can use this to gauge what a sleeping bag might be good for. A bag with a 50-55 degree rating will only really ever be good for use indoors, while bags that are 0 to 30 degrees probably are acceptable for outdoor use on a cool night.
Bags that have two layers are preferable to one for outdoor use, obviously enough. However, it’s what is hidden in those two layers that often pushes those bags to be more comfortable for younger children. The two layer design adds in what I’ll call “smoothness” – basically it means that there are no cold areas in the sleeping bag because the extra layer insulates your body and keeps your warmth right where you need it throughout the night during cold weather camping.
Size and Style of the Sleeping Sack for Girls
Ask any child around – style matters.
I prefer a basic color design when picking a child’s sleeping bag because it always looks sharp and they can never outgrow a character that they might have loved two years ago.
With their input, you can pick a sleeping bag that is in their favorite color (or a color they’ll put up with) and get a sleeping bag that can last a long time.
Size is obviously the 2nd factor that decides how long your sleeping sack can last. If you have a taller child, it will be hard to find a child’s sleeping bag that will last them into their teen years, so you may want to buy a sleeping bag more gears for teens or adults.
Most children’s bags sleep children up to 5 feet without any problem, it’s when you range into 5 and a half or 6 feet tall that you get children who will not fit into those basic kids’ sleeping bags any more.
